I went from zero
To my own hero.
— Katy Perry, “Roar”
There will be things you never planned for; things beyond your control.
There will be people that want to take you out.
There will be the negative noise in your head that you let take over.
But in the depths of the dark and the lowest of lows, that’s where you find your strength and see that you are, indeed, the hero of your own life.
Day 2 of this journey was supposed to be straightforward: P90 Sweat A and T25 Speed 1.0. But then life set in. You read about other people; you compare yourself to someone you’re not; you let the small things get to you.
It would have been easy to let the smallest of things take over my mind and tell me how I’m not good enough. I used to let that happen all the time. It’s why a lot of toxic things happened over the years, including toxic people. But then I remembered that those things don’t hurt me unless I give them permission.
And today, permission was not given
So P90 Sweat A and T25 Speed 1.0 went down with music on and the noise of others (and my mind!) shut down. I couldn’t hear Tony Horton or Shaun T tell me every instruction, but I didn’t need to. I let my heart take over and poured into achieving my goals. I was jumping, shuffling, and breathing my way to a better day — to a better me.
There will always be the things you never planned for or wanted to happen. There will be people that will dismiss you. There will be fear and doubt trying get a 24/7/365 day pass into your peace.
But there will always be the hero inside of you that will float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. There will always be that amazing you that will ultimately triumph.
So go forth and triumph today.
